What an exciting moment for our freedge champion and owner of Newton’s New England Soup Factory, Marjorie Drunker, who received a special call from Today Show’s very own Hoda and Jenna!
Marjorie’s daughter, Emily, nominated her mother as part of Hoda and Jenna’s “May Flowers Spring Surprises” running through the month to surprise and honor amazing community members. Marjorie received the special call this morning, where both Hoda and Jenna thanked her for all her efforts supporting the Newton Community freedge. This thank you included a $5,000 donation to the Newton Food Pantry from Whole Foods to help keep the freedge stocked with plenty of food for those who need it most in our community.
“She was nominated for her kindness and compassion helping families in need of food assistance,“ said Hoda Kotb.
