Kids & Teens
Is your child looking for a way to give back to our community? Are you a teen looking to dive into community volunteering? We have some exciting initiatives and programs tailor-made for you!
Teen Ambassador Program (TAP)
This year-long program offers middle and high school students the opportunity for personal growth while serving the greater good in the Newton community.
Students are given an “insider” experience at the Newton Food Pantry, where they will learn how a successful nonprofit organization runs and gain a better understanding of the impact that the Newton Food Pantry has in the community. Find out more and consider applying here.
Make and decorate Kids’ Snack Bags
Kid’s Bags are distributed to every child in families that visit the Newton Food Pantry on Wednesday afternoon. The decorated bags are filled with a variety of child-friendly snack foods and drinks meant to be enjoyed by kids between meals during the school week. Learn more about how you can help here. Feeling creative, consider working with family members or neighbors to decorate bags for our Kids’ Snack Bags initiative. Head to our Kids’ Snack Bag Decorating Guidelines to get started!
Make handmade cards for our clients
Looking for a fun, creative activity to do that will put a smile on the face of your Newton neighbors? Please consider making colorful and thoughtful homemade cards to be put inside our clients’ grocery bags.
