Support during Federal Government Shutdown
If you are a Newton resident and are currently impacted by the current Federal Government closures the Newton Food Pantry if available to assist. The Newton Food Pantry provides food assistance and personal care products to Newton residents who experience food insecurity. The Newton Food Pantry is open for shopping every Wednesday from 1:30-5:30pm, and the 3rd Saturday of each month from 10am -noon.
There are 2 other food pantries in Newton – neither of which are affiliated with the Newton Food Pantry. They are separate, independently operated nonprofits with different locations and hours. The other two food pantries are:
- Centre Street Food Pantry located in Trinity Episcopal Church (11 Homer Street) (Open every Tuesday 4-7pm; 1st Saturday 11am-1pm)
- Arabic Baptist Church Food Pantry located in Arabic Baptist Church (187 Church Street) (Open January-Oct 2nd and 4th Friday 11am-1pm; Nov and Dec. 1st and 3rd Friday 11am-1pm)
Residents of Newton can pick up food at the Newton Food Pantry and both of these other food pantries once a month, and the food and personal care products are free.
