March Volunteer Spotlight: Justin Traxler

Justin Traxler used to help unload deliveries for NFP at the old Waban Library location. Since the pandemic began in March, 2020, Justin has been picking up and driving a U-Haul from the Greater Boston Food Bank to the NFP and helping to load and unload deliveries. He and his team have been delivering 6,000 pounds of food to the NFP every two weeks. Justin says, “It was a reality check to physically see how much food is needed to feed families in Newton. You don’t fully appreciate it until you hand load (food) into a U-Haul on a 90 degree day.”

In his spare time, Justin likes to coach and play soccer, and he is the President of Newton Girls Soccer. Originally from California, Justin has been a Newton resident for over 20 years. He and his wife, Regina Wu (President of NFP) have two daughters, and enjoy traveling and hiking together. He hopes someday to hike Patagonia again, which he calls “one of the best vacations of my life.”

Thank you, Justin, for everything you have done for the Pantry!
