December Volunteer Spotlight: Kelly Davidson

Kelly Davidson started volunteering for the pantry about seven years ago, when her friend and running partner Regina Wu inspired her to get involved. Kelly was looking for a community service opportunity that she could do together with her children, so she (and her children) started delivering food to a homebound Newton resident, and now deliver to two clients each month.

Kelly has participated on the NFP’s Ride for Food cycling team, and has also served twice as a committee member on the pantry’s major fundraiser, Newton’s Community Table (formerly the ONT), which she has found incredibly rewarding. Kelly says, “For me, the enjoyment comes when I am connecting with people as we work toward [becoming] a more supportive, inclusive, accessible community here in Newton.” Kelly also teaches part time, and enjoys running, taking walks with her husband and dog, and cheering on the sidelines at her kids’ field hockey, baseball, and cross country events.

Thank you, Kelly, for everything that you have done for the pantry!
