Volunteer Spotlight: Manejah Terzi

Manejah Terzi started working for the pantry in September, 2016. After living in Newton for four years, she was looking to get more involved in the community and to help out in some way. She had heard of the Newton Food Pantry though word of mouth, so she reached out via the website, and then began volunteering on Wednesday afternoons. Manejah loved helping out on Wednesdays, meeting new clients and seeing familiar faces.

In 2017, Manejah’s work scheduled changed, which required her to be in the city most days. Since she wanted to continue to volunteer with the NFP in some capacity, she agreed to help with communications. For the past two years, Manejah’s primary role has been to manage the NFP’s website updates, social media posts, and media outreach, a perfect match given her PR background. Manejah says, “I still love volunteering at NFP events and on Wednesdays at the pantry. Not only do I feel grateful to be able to give back in some way, but I also feel so fortunate to be part of a wonderful, caring group of volunteers.”

When Manejah is not volunteering, she spends time traveling with family and friends, writing (still working on that novel!), and tending to the needs of her golden retriever puppy, Floyd. She has also been very busy launching her new business, Manejah PR (www.manejahpr.com), which helps small companies with their public relations, social media, and event needs.

Thank you, Manejah, for everything that you do for the pantry!
